Stress affects everyone differently. How does stress affect you? Do you get stressed out about work, your relationships or your finances? Especially in today’s environment there are more than enough stress-induced problems to keep you stressed out all the time. For some, it can feel like you are in a pressure cooker where the pressure never ends! Would you like to become stress free or at least have some ways to overcome the stress you are experiencing? Of course! That’s why you’re reading this article.

The great news is that there are some natural ways to relieve stress quickly and easily. No matter how much stress you are experiencing, there are some simple natural ways to relieve stress that don’t involve taking pharmaceuticals.

Here are 10 natural stress reducers to help you start living a stress free, or at least stressed reduced life today.

Stress reducer 1 – Decide to decrease your busyness. Most people say they are stressed out because they are too busy. So the first thing you need to do is determine if everything you are doing is essential. Think about what things you can cut out of your schedule so that you can free up more time for essential things like time for you and your family. Often overcoming stress is just a matter of cutting non-essential things out of your busy schedule and deciding to live a less busy life.

If you feel you are too busy, make a list of the clubs or organizations you belong to. What meetings or activities are you involved in? After you have made a list of all the things in your schedule take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. Write out all the essential activities on one side and the non-essential activities on the other. Now decide on what non-essential activities you can remove. Once you’ve decided what you can remove – do it!

Stress reducer 2 – Organize your home. Is your house or apartment cluttered? Do you have lots of stuff that you haven’t used for a while or even looked at for a longer while? Are your closets full of clothes you don’t use? Take some time to organize your home. When your living space is cluttered and unorganized, it can make you feel cluttered and unorganized on the inside. This can cause you to become even more stressed. If this is you, becoming slightly more organized will be one of the best natural ways to relieve stress you’ll find.

Do you have things you never use? Then get rid of them! Sell them, throw them away, or give them to charity or someone who’ll make use of it. Once you’ve done that, organize what’s left and make a specific place for everything. If it makes it easier for you, use labels and organizational containers to help you find things again. Just remember, being clutter free can make you feel stress free.

Stress reducer 3 – Organize your workspace. It will do the same thing you did for de-cluttering your home. Remember, your external environment affects your internal peace. Messy on the outside most likely means stressed out on the inside. As you become more organized you’ll know where everything is which is an excellent method of overcoming the stress you used to have finding or sorting though things.

Stress reducer 4 – Make a budget. A major stress factor, especially today is money. However, there is a simple solution for overcoming this type of stress. Make a budget. If you are like most people you probably don’t like the word budget. Just remember that budgeting doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, financial planning actually helps you overcome financial stress while saving money.

Since there are many budgeting systems to choose from, the best thing you can do is search online for a budgeting system that best matches your way of doing things. Make sure that it’s simple and easy to use. What you’ll find is that once you’re on a budget you’ll have gone a long ways toward overcoming financial stress.

If you are not sure where to start, seek the help of an experienced financial planner. They can steer you to the right financial path for your needs.

Stress reducer 5 – Learn to be contented with your present circumstances. Develop an attitude of gratitude for what you already have. Now I’m not saying don’t try to have a better life, just enjoy the present, where you are and what you do have. Our society teaches that more is better. The fact is that this isn’t always the truth. Once you develop an attitude of gratitude and learn to be content with where you are in life, you’ll find much more peace within yourself.

Stress reducer 6 – Get on regular exercise program. When you workout, your body burns off more than just fat and calories, it also burns off stress and anxiety. You also get to take care of your pent up frustrations.

No matter if you’re stressed out due a work situation or a family conflict, getting a good workout will help you blow off steam and overcome your stress and anxiety.  After you are done you will be able to think and reason more clearly. This will allow you to better deal with some of the core issues that are contributing to your stress.

Stress reducer 7- Eat healthy foods. Stop eating so much junk! Eating healthy foods is one of the best natural ways to relieve stress, especially to your body. This is because when your body is nourished properly, it functions optimally. Eating right cleans your system and lends itself to clearer thinking.

Stress reducer 8 – Delegate some of your work to others or reduce your workload. If you have a heavy workload, either on the job or at home, do what you can to reduce it. If you can – delegate it, if you can’t – get rid of it.

There is a story about a little boy that asks his mom why his daddy couldn’t play with him when he got home from work. She explained that it was because he had so much work to do he couldn’t finish it at his office and had to bring it home. After listening to his mom’s explanation the little boy said, “Well, why don’t they put him in a slower group?”

Take a good look at your routine. Determine if the workload is really worth the toll it’s taking on your body, health and relationships. If it’s not – and you don’t see an end in sight – perhaps it’s not the proper solution to your problems anyway. Maybe you need to find a slower group.

Stress reducer 9 – Find someone to talk to. When it comes to overcoming stress, communication is key. Having someone like a friend or pastor you can talk openly and honestly with is one of life’s best stress reducers.

When you get things off your chest you can see things in a new light. This can help you sort your problems out and help you find solutions. The more solutions you can find the faster you’ll be able to overcome the stress of your daily life.

Talking about your situation with someone else can give you another way of looking at your problem. This is because there is a good chance they’ll likely see something you don’t.

Stress reducer 10 - Keep a stress journal. In addition to discovering what causes your stress, journaling is a great way to overcome it. Journaling gives you an outlet without having to reveal your deepest thoughts to the world.

Journaling is also a great way to see the progress you make. This can be very uplifting and therapeutic.
