Depression is an illness that can have different definitions depending on who you’re asking. Many people go through this highly personal experience. The physical manifestations of depression can also differ considerably. People who’ve undergone clinical depression will likely explain it differently than others who haven’t had it.

Spotting Warning Signs Of Depression

The symptoms aren’t the same for everyone. Depression as a serious disorder and has the potential of destroying a person’s life if left unaddressed or ignored. Most people suffering from depression say it’s like despair that cloaks everything they feel and do. If your idea of depression is feeling down because you lost a ballgame then you’re way off. It goes deeper than that. Depression is worse than simple frustration or sadness.

The bottom line is it takes everything away from an individual. You lose focus, can’t concentrate, it drains your energy and joy practically disappears. You cease caring about anything. Suddenly nothing matters anymore. Even your loved ones turn into unimportant entities. People who are depressed for extended periods become so used to it that other emotions start turning into unfamiliar and scary stuff.
